Job description

Major responsibilities of the EMT/Nurse include but are not limited to the following:



Provide immediate first response for all individuals in need of emergency medical care whilst at the venue of the Dubai World Trade Centre, its employees, tenants, exhibitors, contractors and guests.

Attend to the medical needs of walk in patients at the designated EMS stations/staff clinic. These may include exhibitors, organizers, contractors or DWTC employees who been struck ill or accidentally injured during various stages of an event being held at the venue.

Perform proper assessment and primary treatment of all patients seen at the EMS station/staff clinic as required.

Assist the Visiting Physician in the treatment of walk in cases and carrying out of medical procedures at the staff clinic as required.

Shall make appropriate decision to and coordinate on any transport that will be made to any healthcare facility if needed.

Co-ordinate and be responsible to follow up the health condition of patients attended to who are admitted in the hospital as required.

Provide patient privacy and confidentiality.

Ensure patients ABC’s are secured and maintained at all times. (see annex table for skill specific details)

Perform Basic Life Support procedures when deemed necessary.



Accurate documentation and reporting of all patients attended at the EMS station or staff clinic as required. Proper PCR filing, record keeping, data gathering & statistics, reporting at regular intervals to management. He/she shall ensure that all patient data is kept private and protected at all times in the interest of both the patient and the company.

Co-ordinates with the insurance company for any Pre approval or claims as required.

Responsible in updating/requesting Medical Supplies based on established guidelines.





Receive proper endorsement from outgoing shift for all supplies and equipment in their assigned station.

Proper maintenance of medical & office equipment functioning.

Upon receiving a call shall determine the most expeditious route to take.

“scene size up” to obtain a general picture of the situation, determine patient condition and make a decision on requiring additional backup resources if necessary.

Ensure the safety of self, the crew, bystanders and of the patient before attempting to approach the patient.

Implement duties in line with the Quality standards set by the department.

Participate in health awareness programs and health promotion campaigns. for DWTC employees

Carry out work duties in accordance with DWTC Policies & Procedures

Carry out all function in both the staff clinic and EMS station in accordance to the set clinical protocols by the Medical Division.

Implement any other duties as assigned by the Management & or Visiting Physician without any conflict to the established clinical protocols.

As duties change, it will be reflected in the job description after discussions are held with the post holder in the yearly performance evaluations.

Desired Skills and Experience

Formal Education:

§ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and or Medical equivalent course



§ EMS Training

EMT Basic Course

EMT Intermediate Course

Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support

§ Advanced Cardiac Life Support

§ Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

§ Standard First Aid


Special/Additional Qualifications:

§ Rescue & Extrication

§ UAE Driving License


* Current/Valid License from Country of Origin

* Current/Valid License from Dubai Health Authority/Certificate of Eligibility


§ Relevant EMS/Nursing/Medical Experience >5 years

Good relations within the Medical community
